Target: Kids in school

Haven't we already seen enough school executions in the past few weeks? Waking up to the news of 3 different shootings in 3 different schools in a week, is frightening. It seems that schools are just open and easy targets. Only this morning we heard of the gunman who opened fire in an Amish School shooting 11 girls, over some grudge he has kept for 20 years! If you keep a grudge for so long, you obviously need some kind of counselling.
It's becomming unsafe to send children to schools, in case a mentally disturbed, revenge seeking gunman is around.

Just last week there was the Colorado shooting, and before that the Canadian mess. Students are easy targets.

Watch, dear Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight,
and give your angels charge over those who sleep.
Tend your sick ones, O Lord Jesus Christ, rest your weary ones,
bless your dying ones, soothe your suffering ones, shield your joyous ones,
and all for your love’s sake.
Amen

I feel the message you are trying to point across here Carmel, for the majority, I agree.

However, its fear that controlls us, fear dictates what, when, how we live our lives. The people who commit such catastophic acts to their brothers and sisters is apauling. They clearly have a mental disorder, no one in their right mind would ever do such a thing. But, these people live, and prey off fear, they see in peoples eyes and feel strength. If you give them this power, it causes them to become stonger. We have to show these people that as a culture, we are not scared, and we WILL deal with their acts. Plus, there is always the divine judgement that will surely ensue.

I pray for the souls that have passed. May god be with them now.

It is heartbreaking. There is not a lot one can say. Evil exists. But I also believe that Good also still exists. I'm crying, too.

This ocurred less than a two hours drive west of where I live. I used to think it only happened much further away like in Colorado or down South; but obviously not so anymore.

If I were raising kids at this point, I would seriously consider home schooling. I'm not saying I would definately do it, but I'd have to consider it.

6:16 PM

You know I've been thinking about this lately. There have been at least four attacks in schools in the past two weeks.

The one today, Colorado, Canada, and also at Duquesne University here in Pittsburgh.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but something seems up...

As my wife says, "Just one more reason to homeschool!"

Jon,
You're right, we don't need to be giving them more determination over our fear. Thanks

Tim,
Oh you are so close, it's sad I know and hard to take in. It's very cowardly to go after students.

4HC,
Homeschooling seems to have so many benefits, it's certainly something worth thinking about.

Danny,
I didn't hear of the shooting in Pittsburgh until now. Being so far from the USA I guess I miss out on some of the news. It's just shocking, I agree with your wife, there are many reasons to home school in a world like it is today. Sending your kids to school is almost like sending a mouse off into a jungle.

Why these children are behaving in such a way.

3:23 AM

"Revenge" !!!!!!!!

Revenge is a big seed of grudge. whenever it could part of us we can't thinks true or false?

They can lose their mind...

as a result a big tragedy!!!!!!

Oh! God, save the humanity to this attitude.

3:43 AM

My mind cannot fathom the kind of mind that murders innocent children (or innocent anything). Where does such evil come from?

1:25 PM

Hi Carmel
These shootings make me sick to my stomach! I being a teacher get very hesistant when one happens because there is always copycats out there. I hope one day soon we don't ever have to worry about this.

That man that shot the girls at the amish school, was an absolute sicko

7:29 PM

yes it's very hard to comprehend and to take in. Thank you so much for your opinions, it's good to be able to hear other peoples way of dealing with such horrific behaviour.

9:17 PM

It's just so sad...

But that was a nice prayer!

12:40 AM

He was a fucking wack job. The guy was crazy.

9:50 PM

i know .. well its kinda sad and pathetic to see school shootings .. how corrupt can our children be at that age that they know how to shoot and kill.

I mean even in the third world countries .. the most corrupt countries there are no school shootings .. no kid gets killed, infact school is one of the safest places. Sure there are fights among children but that's normal.

the kids today are getting worst .. no family values, no respect for teachers or elders .. i hate such kids, and they are the future of America.. dang!

9:45 PM

the gunman didnt need counselling

...not from this side of a firing squad, anywayz.

pardon my haste in condemning a Trash of the Earth.
