Welcome to Rome

Here is an article about Francis J. Beckwith who has resigned from being the president of the Evangelical Theological Society and returning to Catholicism.
All I can say is "welcome home".

Here is a little piece from the article:

"I do agree with Protestants that there is no good I can do, no work I can perform, that would justify me," Beckwith said. "But there are many places in scripture that say there's an obligation Christians have to take on the character of Christ, and that contributes to their justification. The Catholic solution is: I am required to take on the character of Christ, but it is not my power that does it, but God's grace."
The article is here Evangelical Leader Returns to Catholicism

Hiking

I hope that you all had a nice memorial day and a great long weekend. We went hiking on memorial day and then out to dinner. It's so green and lush around here, so I took my camera and took some pictures. I love hiking and I wish that we could do this every week.
Here are some of the gorgeous things nature let us see!

plants growing on a roof!

above, you can see a little pigeon sitting there, it didn't move when I got close so I left it alone, after snapping a photo of course.

I find it easier to think when I'm hiking and I love how they have the little seats that allow you to sit, rest and take in the view. Hopefully we can go more often, and when I can drive here in the USA I hope to get out and hike as much as possible, although with the way the world is today, if I went alone,I would most definitely take a gun.

Strawberry quick - Crystal Meth

This is actually true, I looked it up to be sure here on Snopes.com after I got a FWD email, so I checked it. Here is what it's about, you might want to warn your kids!!
Here is the email:

THIS IS VERY SERIOUS. PLEASE READ AND PASS ALONG TO ALL YOU KNOW WITH SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN!!!!

TO ALL IT MAY CONCERN,
There is a very scary thing going on in the schools right now that all need to be aware of. There is a type of crystal meth going around that looks like strawberry poprocks. It smells like strawberry also and it is eing handed out to kids in school yards in
Arkansas . I'm sure it will make its way around the country if it hasn't already. Kids are ingesting this thinking that it is candy and being rushed off to the E.R. in dire condition, death can possibly occur. Please instruct your children to not accept candy that looks like this, even from a friend, and to take any that they may have to a teacher, principal, etc. Please pass this around it could save some family a lot of heartache!

That is what they are calling strawberry meth or strawberry quick.

Pill that stops periods..

At first I thought it was not true, but it is, a pill that stops periods!! I think that is obsurd, menstration is a part of being a woman!! The pill is called "Laybrel" and it is supposed to stop periods forever.
Laybrel has been developed to stop periods for women who experience pain and difficulty with it, but symptoms and pain during menstration are caused by something like lack of exercise, poor nutrition etc. It will also be used for continual contraception. I am no doctor but I think by stopping your period unnaturally you are stopping your body from doing something that it is supposed to be doing. More concentration should be in the pain relief and the cause.
Women should not be excited about stopping their period either, because it's a sign of good health. it is a part of your womanhood. Of course menopause happens, but that is natural and your body is doing what it is supposed to do at that age. Do we know that stopping your period is safe anyway?
The FDA says that the risks of using Lybrel are the same as other oral contraceptives, those risks are increased risk of:
1. blood clots,
2. heart attacks
3. strokes.
And from what I have read, the label warns that cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects from the use of combination estrogen and progestin-containing contraceptives.
I guess if you smoke you don't mind taking risks, but still!!
And what if you fall pregnant but don't know because you don't get your period anyway? Then you will be taking pills while a baby might be growing inside!! What will happen to the baby then?
Womanhood is not a disease, helllloooo!!!
Well that's just my opinion.
Here is an aritcle by Mike Adams...
FDA approves pill that stops periods; is womanhood a disease? (opinion)

Doing things

What have I been doing lately? I have been settling myself in to this lovely town. I hope we buy a home soon, we are looking but are just in the beginnings of it all. I'm going to sell my house too, the AUD is not as strong as the USD so I'll lose money, but doesn't that always happen with just about everything? I have also been enjoying this lovely weather, although as I write this, I'm a bit on the thermally hot side of things.
Summer break is coming up so the husband (I love saying that lol) will be off work for a few months and the daughter (I've always loved saying daughter) will be off school, so we will probably go away to visit family, that will be nice, I love getting away, I love long drives too, although isn't the price of gas ridiculous? disgusting?
I have also been applying for my new Immigration stuff, no it doesn't end when you get married, you then have to apply to adjust your status, you also have to apply for permission to work, the fees for me and my daughter came to around $800 dollars. Then they will want to take my fingerprints and all that. They need to be careful I suppose.
What else have I been doing? Procrastinating, I have really been doing that, I am doing that right now instead of doing things I told myself that I'd get done before now.
I guess that I had better stop procrastinating now.
Bye!

Faces of Modern day Saints

Instead of doing what I am supposed to be doing, I have been "youtubing".
I came across this little video that I think is sweet.

All Roads lead to Rome

Here is a personal account of one young mans discovery of the Catholic Church and the Shocking truth about this religion
I enjoyed it.

Also, I came across this site about missing children and saw the banner, I figured that I should put it somewhere on my blog, I can't find a roomy place on the side bar yet, but I'll figure it out some day, but for now I can add it to this post.

I'm not so sure that you can click on the photo as it says to do, but here is the link to the site here

You are the reason

I went ahead and stole this fromAntonia's blog because I just had to share it.
Before you watch it, if you are afraid of blood, violence or drug use etc, don't watch it, I would hate it if you had a heart attack whilst reading my blog. :)

Wildlife

Nothing blogworthy is happening at the moment, but I do want to post a picture of the first raccoon I have seen ever! It came to our bird feeder and ate all the seeds!!!
It did climb on top of the feeder but I was too late to get a photo. You may think it's strange that I take such an interest, but I can't help it.

Jonathan posted a better photo here
