A few months ago I joined
Whoophy it's great if you like to display your photo taking. There are competitions too.
I'm not a fantastic photographer, but I love picture taking and checking out what other people take. I also have my photo blog which I neglect very often, but hope to put up some new stuff at some point. But Whoophy is alot of fun and you can vote on other peoples work too.

I also found a lovely website from the side bar of Dymphna's Well so thanks! It's on my sidebar now called "Light a candle" so if you would like to light a candle, just click there. I light candles alot, for many different reasons, mainly as inspiration through my prayers or at mass, in thanksgiving or for other special reasons, so why not online?

In other news, I have my immigration interview comming up soon, I don't have an exact date but it should be in August, please pray for it to go well, it will determine whether I can move to the USA or not. There have been delays in the past but hopefully all that is behind us.

There has been some great reading around the blog world, especially the exciting news of Antonia and Chris' upcomming wedding! Not to mention the great trip to Rome they are planning.

ST.Peter's Helpers has been blogging on the Holy Father's trip to the Aosta Valley, it's been great to read about that because my mum lived there and I would love to go some day.

I can't believe reality tv these days, there is a new program to air called
Bride Wannabe where some girl tries to find herself a husband to be, and plan a wedding in 9 weeks.
I doubt that is taking marriage seriously, 9 weeks in the public eye and then marriage? is that possible for a happy ending? You never know, I hope so for their sake anyway.

I think that my mother made a beautiful bride, although i'm biased here, and we all think that about our mothers, or at least the nice mothers. =)

I have been tagged by Thomas, otherwise known as the
American Papist with this 5 silly things about me tag. There are lots of silly things about me. So here are only 5,

1. I cannot play the game "Bingo" without getting upset when I lose, which, I always lose, so I always get upset.

2. I have to brush my teeth before my morning shower, I am not sure why, it's just a silly thing about me.

3. I saw a butcher cut up a poor piggy, now I havent been able to eat meat for the past 3 weeks or so.

4. I complain about a sore neck and back but never do anything about it.

5. I buy things that I don't need when I go shopping.

Apart from links and being sick I watched a great movie last night called The Count of Monte Cristo

He is as many know the actor who played Jesus is "Passion of the Christ" I read a little about him while checking out the movie reviews, here are two things he has said in interviews that I like:

"We always went to Mass. No matter what, we always went. It has always been a safe-keeper for all of us and the one thing that's been very consistent in our lives. I think the old saying, 'The family that prays together, stays together,' is very true," he says.

"I have no doubt that God put me in this business. When I was a teenager in a movie theater in my hometown, I felt this huge pain in my chest, like a voice saying, 'Please get into this business—this is what I need for you to do.' And I asked, 'But who am I? I know nothing about acting. I don't know any actors. I've never taken any classes,'"


So if you are interested in a good movie that's my recommendation.

I have to say congratulations to the Italian soccer team
Forza Azzurri for winning the FIFA Word Cup for the fourth time. Well done!
Soccer is big in Australia, England and most of Europe so i'm sure there is alot of celebrating around the world. It was a great game, apart from the headbutt French guy. I wasn't up to watch all of it though, I watched the final part of the game when I got up this morning.

I also noticed that there were fireworks in Rome, which is pretty special.
I also noticed alot of prayers of thanks and a lovely "Jesu" tattooed on one of the players.

The closest i'll ever be to a Brady is that my surname has 2 of the same letters Brady does.

Some one said to me "You women carry all sorts of things in your purses" well that's what they are for!
I think the weirdest thing I had in my purse was a sock, I went to pick up my hankercheif and reached for a "clean" sock. Oh well. As you can see, I carry my wallet (money goes where I go), lip gloss for those chappy days, a pen (with no paper) and one earring, why one earring? I lost the other one. Oh and I manage to just squeeze my phone in. Nice purse huh ;)
I have so many nice photos of Melbourne I just want to add one more that I tried to be a bit creative with, dont laugh!

Thousands of women are grieving after their abortion. Many are not understood and have not been able to have their grief acknowledged, nor been given the opportunity to heal.
Over the past two years, I really started to focus some of my energies into reading and writing (writing on my blog) on pro-life issues. I mainly focused on abortion, and why it was wrong. There are many reasons, we feel for the lost lives. But we also need to understand the pain that comes after abortion. I must admit that I have not written about those issues for a long time.
I do not know the pain of abortion, but I have read numerous stories. While buying some gifts at a bookstore recently, I was given a card which had some words written on it about helping women (not forgetting the men) after abortion. I lost it unfortunately, but it inspired me to read a little more and pray more for the pain that lingers in the lives of these women, who sometimes have made the choice to terminate their pregnancy, or who have been forced to do so, by a parent, boyfriend etc.
In addition, I began reading over the net and my heart really went out to "Gina". I found her story on
Rachel's Vineyard, you can find her story Here.
Gina was forced to have an abortion by her father, who was only doing what he thought was the right thing to do. The problem was never discussed, so Gina had no opportunity to express or process her grief and pain.
Thankfully though, she was able to get help from Rachels' Vineyard and go into family counseling with her parents.
I found that this story shows how her parents tried to reach for the "quick fix" option, which they later discovered was far from it, because of their daughters psychological pain, and life long grief.
Abortion supporters, will often argue that there is more trauma involved when a woman is made to have an unwanted child. But there is no research to support this.
There are no such studies to show that women who give birth suffer more psychological injury than women who have abortions. A woman who is stuck and can not keep her child, has the adoption option also, this should be an option that is given, while understanding that a grieving mother will be reminded of her loss, every time there is a baby advertisement on TV, pictures in magazines, news of family members, friends etc giving birth announcements. It's going to be a life long grief. These women who experience this grief can get help and can heal. There are hundreds and thousands of testimonies.
In conclusion, there is help available, the Catholic Church has offered "Project Rachel" and there are numerous other organizations, so , if you know someone who is experiencing this pain and they need healing, there is help available. Here are two links which I have chosen and in my opinion look to be great. God loves all and can heal all wounds.

I have a book called "Your Cat (the boss)" I really like it, it's a mini sized gift book type of thing. I have been sticking my nose in and reading it on some evenings, when I really should be doing other things.
It contains 191 quirky, funny and memorable quotations about cats. You don't have to be a cat lover to like this book or at least agree with some of it.

Hey everyone! I have been away for the past week for anyone who has noticed my absence! If you haven't noticed it's probably normal of you.
Last monday I left with my family to the city of Melbourne. We were originally supposed to stay a couple of nights, but as it happened, we were having too much fun and wanted to stay the whole week.
Melbourne is gorgeous, it's my favorite city and I would love to hang out there more often. I love the old fashioned streets, the quiet little underground bookstores and the whole victorian era feel. There are the most gorgeous little cafe's on every street and the old Church buildings are amazing.
I bought some gifts at the St.Francis bookstore, buying gifts is always fun, they had a sale, but everything I wanted was not included in this sale, so I spent a pretty penny.
We arrived on monday night and the streets were full of Australian socceroo's supporters, I was sad to hear that we lost :( but we sure played a good game. I felt like dressing up in an Australian flag and painting my face green and yellow, but my family did not want to participate and I did not want to go out in a big crowd by myself, even though I can handle myself.
On one of those days there, it was my dads birthday, although he has passed away, I will remember every birthday and will not say "would have been his birthday" because every June XX date "is". I thought about him alot that day and what he would say at certain things. It really stood out to me that he will not be there for the next big things in my life. What about when I get married or have another baby? But all my life is in God's hands and i'm thankful for all of it. I have my mother who loves me alot and is very special. Not to mention God above and the love from Our lady. And of course, our loved ones who die in Christ will always be with us. God see's the whole thing and we cannot comprehend it, but it's all good. And i'm not the only one on earth who is missing someone, so I should shut up about it, to be quite honest. All ups and downs of life bring out strengths and weaknesses within us. I remember one certain celebrity talking about dealing with her sisters illness, and said "I just couldnt put on the happy face front" I remember saying the same thing to some people I worked with, I used to be a part of a childrens Christian production group, we would perform acts for children on stage and sometimes travel too, it was fun and easy for me, until I went through my dads illness, being one of the main characters, I was on stage performing and when it was done someone said "you didn't seem into it". I remember saying, "I just cant put on the happy face thing" and I quit. It's interesting how we are all so different and unique, but when we have been down simmilar paths, we can identify almost exact feelings with someone you don't know.
I'm going to leave you with some photos that I took. I was not going to have any pictures taken of me because I am sick, I have a cold and my nose is red, so no happy healthy snaps of me, Melbourne is more interesting believe me. I was sick the whole time but still managed to get out there and have fun, i'm still sick but it's almost gone.
By the way, none of my graphics are working, I don't know what's wrong with them and right now I don't care, ok I do care, it's geocities, they are pains, if you know a "FREE" photo hosting site thingy, please email me . I will try to fix them later.
I see some new readers, I like you!!! I have read some of your blogs too, I like it when people take the time to want to know what I have to say, even if it's not all that interesting and exciting. My friends are like that too, they listen to me, I am lucky. I will have to catch up on all the blog news now that i'm back.
