Sooo Cold!!

I am enjoying my time here in the US with my boyfriend and his family. We had a great Christmas, I ate alot of good food and must get back into excersize or else!!
I have never seen or felt the cold like winter in Ohio!!! The trees were covered in ice!! But I must say that when the sun came out and sparkled on the trees it was a pretty site.
I would like to offer up a prayer for that disasterous tsunami in asia, those poor families out there who are waiting hopefully to hear from missing family and loved ones

HEAVENLY Father,
we come to You for comfort as we do whenever
natural disasters occur.
We know that there must be a reason for them
but we do not know what it is.
Teach us to accept them in the light of eternity
and as the by-product of a world in the making.
Help us to cooperate with You in completing the universe,
unlocking it's secrets and removing it's flaws
while bringing about the fulfillment
of the kingdom of Your Son on earth
which is the foreshadowing of Your kingdom in heaven

I pray that these people find peace at this time

a baby saved

I often write about prolife issues and how important the life in the womb is. I was reading today about a baby that was torn from her mothers womb who is still alive and doing well. Her mother was murdered unfortuanately but the baby lived, that is quite rare and goes to show that this life was just meant to be, to read more click here

The Plane has landed!!

Hey everyone, I have finally arrived in the US, boy was it a long trip!! But worth it of course. Before leaving for the USA I stopped off in Melbourne for a few days, and I was impressed with the Christmas decorations there. There were nativity scenes and alot of stuff representing the birth of Christ, not everything of course but it was good to see, since there have been issues regarding Christ and Christmas in Australia.
Thanks to those who offered up travel prayers for me, I got here not only safely but had a good trip, tired as I am, I'm excited about my visit.

St.John of Damascus

What sweetness in this life
Does not partake of earthly sadness?
What expectation is not in vain
and where amongst men is the happy man?
All is changeful, all is paltry
That with difficulty we have gained
What glory on earth
Stands firm and unchanging?
All ashes, a phantom, shaddow and smoke,
All vanishes like a whirlwind of dust,
And before death we stand
Unarmed and powerless.
The arm of the mighty man is weak,
Null are the commands of kings,
Receive thy servant now fallen asleep,
O Lord, into the dwellings of the blessed

Christmas in Sydney

As we already know, Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately efforts to take anything Christian out of Christmas is increasing and we hear about it all the time.
I read an article here about the attempts to do so in Sydney.
Apparently the mayor only wants to spend $600,000AUD because she is worried about offending non-Christians.
Prime minister John Howard said that this scrooge like plan by Australias biggest city to mark Christmas was "political correctness" from central casting.
Sydney is home to 4million people and is being limited to only 2 trees, 21 silver stars, 35 lights and some banners.
Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore said that the city did not want to "push any one religious belief."
The Prime Minister came back with "It is unbelievable" and "I have never met a Jewish person or a Muslim Australian who wants us to stop celebrating Christmas. This is the ridiculous thing about this blanding out any kind of distinctive identity that we might have"
Celebrating Christmas is not pushing any one faith to anyone, it's simply a time to remember Jesus and we celebrate it with the world, I don't see decorations being a push at all, I also don't see any other religious group worried about it, so then why?
As Mr. Howard says....It's unbelievable

A true blessing

I have always had a great admiration and respect for Mother Teresa. I have written a post about her on my blog before, but often I think of things she said about different things, and I really feel that she was a wonderful and unique vessel of God, and he used her greatly, of course because she was submissive to the Father.
She said some things in her time that showed such wisdom, and she had some amazing strength.
It is clear that she was really "in tune" with God, and I believe that these quotes that I shall share below are quotes impacted by God.
These quotes are regarding abortion. I believe that we need to keep informing the world about what they call "termination of pregnancy" I don't like this term, even though it is a termination of the pregnancy it does not give justice to what it is totally, it's a taking of life, a killing, because it stops a beating heart that belongs to a "person" and child of God.
Enjoy these quotes from Mother Teresa....

"Please don't kill the child. I want the child. Please give me the child. I am willing to accept any child who would be aborted, and to give that child to a married couple who will love the child and be loved by the child. From our children's home in Calcutta alone, we have saved over 3,000 children from abortions. These children have brought such love and joy to their adopting parents, and have grown up so full of love and joy!"

"Any country that accepts abortion, is not teaching it's people to love, but to use any violence to get what it wants"

"It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish"

for we all have souls

One thing we forget sometimes is that everyone is an equal, and everyone is loved by God whether Christian, Athiest, rich, poor, educated or not.
I have seen people (Christian too) turn their nose up at someone who looks dirty, or not up to the standards they set for themselves.
Even in Churches, I see "groups" of people who will only talk to each other, and often find that others seem quite lonely and left out.
I remember one year, when I went to a women's get together for Church, I was surprised to hear gossip of all kinds, mostly about those who were the "left out".
I have been guilty of things similar too, so I am not being judgmental here, I know my sins and mistakes are not prettier than anyone's.
Also those who would come to Church and sit in the back row, would have people talking, "oh she/he doesn't seem to be doing very well with the Lord, or they would be out the front, raising their hands in worship"
I have seen it in chat rooms over the internet, some come in and get asked "what Church do you go to?" well, hopefully you go to the "right" one, or else there will be comments of all kinds.
What I think, is that we as Christians, should analyze our actions a little from time to time, and remember that we should be encouraging others who are struggling in whatever way, that we are accepting as God is, there are no favorites in God's eyes, he loves "all", after all, Jesus came to earth for the "lost" we all know that he is the "Good shepherd" and would leave the flock to find the one who was lost.
I believe that we need to reflect that through ourselves, so others can see, and they will feel accepted and more confident to walk into a Church.
This scripture here says"
Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth,
that we might be a kind of firstfruits for all he created. JAMES 1:17

Here we can take notice of the "firstfruits of "all" he created" because he did
create us "all" and loves us and desires the best for everyone.
